City Crews Completed Snow Operations Today, Sun., Nov. 26
The City’s crews completed snow operations mid-morning today, Sunday, Nov. 26. Crews worked overnight into mid-morning treating primary and secondary streets with salt. Melting due to warming pavement temperatures and sun will continue throughout the day. Drivers should watch for areas of refreezing overnight and especially during the Monday morning commute.

Drivers should use caution, especially on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses. The City will continue to monitor the weather forecast and will update its response as needed.

Electrical Fire Involving a Space Heater Damages Home
On Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at 3:49 a.m., the Lee's Summit Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 1400 Block of SW Jefferson. The occupants called 911 after waking up to a popping noise and discovered smoke and fire in the living room.
When the fire department arrived, smoke was visible from the front door of a one-story, single-family residence. The occupants and dog were outside.
