Road Closures

The following City* streets are closed or scheduled for closure due to road construction or repair**:

  • The intersection of NW Ward and NW O'Brien Roads - is set to close on Mon., Aug. 17, for approxmiately two months. NW Ward Road will be closed to through traffic between NW Blue Parkway and NW Chipman Road. NW O'Brien Road will be closed to through traffic between Executive Way and NW Donovan Road. Work is related to the Ward Road project improvements and more project information and updates can be found on the project page.

  • The intersection of Hook and Pryor Roads - is set to close for 90 days beginning Wed., Aug. 12. Before the intersection closes, the section of Pryor Road between Eagle View Drive and Eagle Creek Drive will reopen to traffic. Pryor Road will be open one lane in each direction between Scherer and the intersection closure.

  • Section of Pryor Road between Eagle Creek Drive and Eagle View Drive - will remain closed for at least several more weeks, into August 2026. Section of Pryor Road between Eagle View Drive and Scherer Road is now open. Improvements to the Pryor Road and Hook Road intersections are expected to begin later this summer, 2026. 

  • Section of SW Noel Street at SW 2nd St. - is set to close daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning on Monday, July 20, and lasting for approximately two weeks. The closure is necessary for gas main work by a utility contractor.  

  • Section of SW Robin Road at the intersection of SW 2nd Street - is set to close to through traffic on Mon., July 6, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., for approximately one month. The closure is necessary for the installation of gas lines for Spire. 

  • Northwest Olive and Northwest Orchard streets - closed Mon., March 2 until October 2026. Northeast Central Street and Northeast Main Street will also be closed to through traffic. These initial closures are to minimize trafic while crews begin tree clearing and utility work as part of the Olive and Orchard Road and Stormwater Improvements project. 

  • Section of NW Quarry Park Road - The City will once again implement an inclement winter weather route for Northwest Quarry Park Road. Please note the inclement weather route for the 2025-2026 winter season.

*The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) manages closures on the state highway system such as I-470, US-50 Hwy, M-291 Hwy, and M-150 Hwy. For a list of state road or highway closures, visit the MoDOT Kansas City Roadwork.

**This page only lists long-term closures of more than 48 hours. Short-term closures are sometimes necessary for repairs, emergencies, work in the right-of-way, etc.
