Road Closures

The following City* streets are closed or scheduled for closure due to road construction or repair**:

• Section of Southeast Browning Street between Southeast Eighth Street and Southeast Blue Parkway - set to close Wed., Oct. 22 for approximately three days. The work is necessary for water line work as part of the Route 291 north and U.S. 50 Interchange project. 

• Section of Southeast Fourth Street between Southeast Timbercreek Lane and Southeast Todd George Parkway - set to close Thurs., Oct. 23 until Mon., Nov. 3. The closure is necessary for the installation of new stormwater infrastructure and the work is part of the EFLB Area 3 and Area 4 Stormwater project. 

• Northwest Colbern Road between Northwest Blue Parkway and Northeast Douglas Street - is now open. Please note Northwest Main Street at Northwest Colbern will remain closed for approximately one month, into mid November. 

• Intersection of Southwest Scherer and Southwest Pryor Roads - is set to close Wed., Oct. 22 for approximately forty-five days. The closure is necessary fro intersection reconstruction. Southwest Scherer Road will be closed to thru traffic between Southwest Sampson Road and Southwest Ward Road. 

• Sections of southbound Northeast Douglas Street between Northeast Orchard and Northeast Forest - is closed daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for approximately two weeks. The closure is for the installation of a gas main. 

• Sections of Northeast Douglas Street between Northeast Elm Street and Northeast Forest Avenue - closed Oct. 2, in one block increments daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for two weeks. Closures are necessary to replace gas services and tie-in houses to a new gas main. 

• Section of Southeast Cobey Creek Drive between Southeast Gillette Street and Southeast David Road - is set to close on Wednesday, Oct. 1, and will remain closed for approximately a week and a half. The closure is necessary for stormwater work.

• Sections of Southeast Douglas and Southeast Ninth streets north of Southeast Blue Parkway - Updated. Closed on Mon., Oct. 6 until Friday, Oct. 31. The closures are necessary for the installation of new water lines as part of the Route 291 north and U.S. 50 Interchange project. In addition, Southeast Douglas Street will be closed to thru traffic between Southeast Seventh Street and Southeast Blue Parkway, with a full closure between just north of Southeast Ninth Street and Southeast Blue Parkway. Southeast Ninth Street will be closed to thru traffic between Southeast Miller and Southeast Douglas streets, with a full closure just west of its intersection with Southeast Douglas Street. 

• Burgandy Lane and Northeast Whitestone Drive at Northeast Colbern Road - are closed through Oct. 10 for gas main work along Northeast Colbern Road. 

• Southwest Third Street between Southwest Blue Parkway and Southwest Jefferson Street - beginning Fri., Sept. 12, all eastbound traffic on Southwest Third Street has shifted to the north lane. Southwest Noel Street north of Southwest Third Street is now open.

• Southwest Nichols Street at Southwest Third Street - closed Mon., Sept. 8, until project completion. Southwest Fourth Street and Southwest Nichols Street will be local access only between the closure and Southwest Walnut Street. 

• Southwest Raintree Parkway spillway bridge between Southwest Tiller Court and Southwest Green Teal - closing on Mon., Aug. 25, and will remain closed for approximately four months. 

• Southwest Oldham Parkway at MO 291 and Southwest Jefferson Street between Southwest Oldham Parkway and Southwest Persels Road - are closed and will remain closed through December. 

• Section of Southwest Oldham Parkway between Southwest Allendale Boulevard and the Southwest Oldham Parkway exit from MO 291 Highway - closed June 16. This is expected to remain closed until Dec. 2025. The closure is necessary for work associated with the Oldham Village development. 

• Sections of Southwest Pryor Road between Southwest Longview and Southwest Scherer roads and between Southwest Scherer and Southwest Hook roads - closed June 30, 2025, and will remain closed until Spring 2026. The closures are necessary for roadway improvements.     

• SW Third Street between SW Walnut and SW Jefferson Streets - will be closed from the south, a traffic pattern shift to the center lane for Eastbound traffic beginning July 16. This traffic pattern shift is necessary as part of phase two of the Third Street Improvements project. 

• SW Third St. between SW Jefferson Street and Blue Parkway - beginning Mon., April 21, will be a traffic pattern change until approximately November 2025. The closure is necessary as part of the Third Street improvements project.   

• Section of NW Quarry Park Road - closed west of NW Pryor Road for emergency road repair. The duration of the closure is unknown at this time. Please note there is an inclement weather route for this closure as well.

**This page only lists long-term closures of more than 48 hours. Short-term closures are sometimes necessary for repairs, emergencies, work in the right-of-way, etc.
