Road Closures

The following City* streets are closed or scheduled for closure due to road construction or repair**:

• Section of Northeast Independence Avenue between Northeast Orchard and Northeast Second Street - will close Tues., April 28, for approximately two days for pavement restoration. The work is part of the West Prairie Lee Sewer Capacity Study, Upgrade and Construction project. 

• Northeast Douglas Street between Northeast Chipman Road and Southeast Second Street - will have various lane closures and some detours through mid-April. The work is in preparation for Northeast Douglas Street Improvements.  

• A section of Southwest Robin Road north of Southwest 2nd Street - is closed daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The work is permitted through April 16 and the closure is for the installation of a gas main by a utility contractor. 

• NW Lake Drive between Woods Chapel Road and Lakewood Boulevard - will close Thursday, April 30 (rescheduled from April 23), to through traffic for approximately 15 days for the installation of speed humps and a raised crosswalk. The hard closure will be between Hickory Street and Greenview Drive by the Lakewood Aquatic Center. 

• Northern intersection of Pryor Road and Eagle Creek Drive, as well as the intersection of Pryor Road and Eagle View Drive - is now closed until mid-June 2026. 

• Longview Road at Pryor Road - will close Mon., April 13 for approximately 30 days. Sections of Pryor Road will also be closed to traffic between 3rd Street and Hook Road. 

• Intersection of Northeast Orchard Street and Southbound Northeast Independence Avenue - will close daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for approximately three weeks for utility work. 

• Section of Northeast Missouri Road between Northeast Grand Avenue and Northeast Independence Avenue - is set to close Mon., March 30, for approximately two weeks. The closure is necessary for the installation of new fire suppression service. 

• Section of Southeast Seventh Terrace between Route 291 North and Southeast Vita Drive - closed Mon., March 23, until early June. This closure is for work related to the Route 291 North and 50 Highway Interchange Improvements project.

• Northwest Olive and Northwest Orchard streets - closed Mon., March 2 until October 2026. Northeast Central Street and Northeast Main Street will also be closed to through traffic. These initial closures are to minimize trafic while crews begin tree clearing and utility work as part of the Olive and Orchard Road and Stormwater Improvements project. 

• Intersection of Northwest Ward Road and Northwest Blue Parkway - is set to close Fri., Feb. 13 and will remain closed until approximately the end of June. A section of Northwest Blue Parkway between Northwest Executive Way and Northwest Ward Road will also be closed. The closures are necessary for the construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Northwest Ward Road and Northwest Blue Parkway as part of the Ward Road Improvements project. 

• Sections of Southwest Pryor Road between Southwest Longview and Southwest Scherer roads and between Southwest Scherer and Southwest Hook roads - closed June 30, 2025, and will remain closed until Spring 2026. The closures are necessary for roadway improvements.     

• Section of NW Quarry Park Road - The City will once again implement an inclement winter weather route for Northwest Quarry Park Road. Please note the inclement weather route for the 2025-2026 winter season.

**This page only lists long-term closures of more than 48 hours. Short-term closures are sometimes necessary for repairs, emergencies, work in the right-of-way, etc.
