If you recently received a letter regarding non-compliance with the backflow testing requirements and you had your backflow device tested, please be advised the letter you received may have been issued in error. After receiving several customer inquiries, it was found that an error in our data resulted in letters being mailed for non-compliance with backflow testing requirements to customers who were actually compliant. The referenced letters were mailed on July 15 and state an August 9 deadline for submittal of the backflow certifications.

Please rest assured there will be no water service disconnections related to these letters.

If it is determined that additional information is required, a follow-up letter will be mailed at a later date. We understand the importance of accurate information and the impact it has on our customers and we sincerely apologize for any concern or inconvenience this may have caused.

Furthermore, I wish to inform you that we are currently implementing a new program and backflow certification processing procedures that are designed to minimize the risk of a similar incident in the future. This new process will be fully implemented by next season, ensuring a smoother and more efficient experience for our customers. We greatly appreciate your understanding and patience as we work through this matter.
