The intersection of Northeast Orchard Street and Southbound Northeast Independence Avenue is closed daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for approximately three weeks for utility work. Southbound Northeast Independence Avenue is closed at Northeast Orchard Street, and Northeast Orchard Street is closed just west of Northeast Independence Avenue. Northbound Northeast Independence Avenue is open to traffic. All work is weather permitting and schedules are subject to change.

• The City of Lee’s Summit will host a Career Fair and Expo from 1 to 6 p.m. on April 2 at the Gamber Community Center, 4 SE Independence Ave.
• The event is free and open to the public and will highlight a variety of employment opportunities across City departments.

A section of Northeast Missouri Road between Northeast Grand Avenue and Northeast Independence Avenue is set to close to through traffic daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Monday, March 30, and lasting for approximately two weeks. The alley behind 326-330 SE Douglas Street is set to close daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Tuesday, March 24, through, Friday, March 27, for sewer repair work. The one-way alley between Southeast Third and Fourth streets will be closed to through traffic. The hard closure will be behind 326-330 SE Douglas Street.

 

Spring cleanup season is here — but burning leaves and other yard waste is prohibited within Lee's Summit city limits. Fire pits, patio fireplaces, and other open-flame appliances may not be used to burn yard waste. Those appliances may be used only with seasoned firewood.
