The City of Lee’s Summit is excited to announce Mayor Bill Baird has selected Dr. Elaine Metcalf as the 2022 Citizen of the Year recipient in recognition of her work educating, supporting and mentoring the youth in the Lee’s Summit community.

Effective July 1 the sewer connection fee for new development will be calculated based on the size of the meter, not the number of drains. Closures are expected daily for sections of SW 2nd Street from SW Lakeview Boulevard to SW Blue Parkway until approximately July 1, weather permitting. The first closure began May 23, for the section of SW 2nd Street from SW Lakeview Boulevard to SW Noel Street.
