RideKC Lee's Summit Express
RideKC 550 Lee’s Summit Express provides commuter trips between Lee’s Summit and downtown Kansas City. Pick up and drop off in Lee’s Summit is at the Park & Ride lot near 50 Highway and Chipman Road. The KCATA manages this bus service and generally operates between 5 and 7 a.m. and 4 and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Beginning June 1, 2026, RideKC buses will resume fare collection. Fares are $2 for a single ride or $4 for a day pass. Monthly and weekly passes are also available. No cash is accepted on buses. Payment options include tap-to-pay (credit/debit/prepaid cards), mobile wallets (such as Apple Pay and Google Pay), RideKCGO Mobile App, or Physical RideKC Pass Cards (available for purchase at East Village Transit Center, 13th and Charlotte). RideKC Lee's Summit
RideKC Lee's Summit provides demand response trips within Lee's Summit. OATS operates this bus/van service. OATS is a nonprofit organization contracted by the City of Lee's Summit to provide door-to-door bus service to its citizens. This service is available to anyone, regardless of age or ability. This service requires a 24-hour advance reservation; (call OATS at 816.380.7433 to schedule a trip). The bus fare is currently $3.00 per trip. Service is available between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, to and from any location within the city limits.

AMTRAK
AMTRAK provides commuter rail service in Lee’s Summit at the City’s Train Depot (on SW Main Street between 2nd and 3rd Streets) via the Missouri River Runner train. The Missouri River Runner runs from Kansas City to St. Louis with stops in Independence, Lee’s Summit, Warrensburg, Sedalia, Jefferson City, Hermann, Washington, and Kirkwood.

Regional Carpool
RideKC Vanpool offers an easy way to save money, while getting you to work and helping the environment. To join or start a RideKC Vanpool, begin by filling out the interest form. Vanpool members pay an affordable, low monthly fare based on the cost of operating the van. Vehicles include 7, 8, and 12-passenger vans. Service is coordinated by Enterprise RideShare.
