The alley behind 326-330 SE Douglas Street is set to close daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Tuesday, March 24, through, Friday, March 27, for sewer repair work. Spring cleanup season is here — but burning leaves and other yard waste is prohibited within Lee's Summit city limits. Fire pits, patio fireplaces, and other open-flame appliances may not be used to burn yard waste. Those appliances may be used only with seasoned firewood. Open burning of vegetation is allowed only in areas zoned for agriculture and meeting the distance requirements, with a permit from the fire department.
