A section of Southeast Sixth Terrace from Southeast Pendleton Drive to Southeast Ashton Drive is closed for approximately two weeks. Access will be allowed for residents. The detour route is Southeast Ashton Drive, Southeast Shenandoah Drive, and Southeast Cumberland Drive. The closure is necessary for sanitary sewer replacement.

Lee’s Summit Mayor Bill Baird will deliver the State of the City address on Aug. 16 at the Missouri Innovation Campus, 1101 NW Innovation Parkway. The Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce is hosting the luncheon beginning at 11 a.m. with the mayor’s address scheduled to start at noon.
During the State of the City address, Mayor Baird will discuss the importance of understanding diverse perspectives and their impact on the city’s successes. He will highlight specific examples where valuing different viewpoints has led to innovative solutions and the development of projects that meet a wide range of needs, reinforcing that the city’s strength lies in the ability to look through a broader lens and work collaboratively toward common goals. A section of Southeast Green Street between Southeast Second Street and the entrance into the City Hall parking lot and garage is set to close on Monday, Aug. 5, until approximately November. Access into the City Hall parking lot and garage from Southeast Green Street will be closed. Employees and visitors can enter the parking lot and garage from the alley just west of the garage off of Southeast Second Street.
The closure is necessary for continued work on the Downtown Market Plaza project. All schedules are weather permitting and subject to change.

Changes to local traffic access on Chipman Road between View High Drive and Bent Tree Drive are expected to begin on Wednesday, Aug. 7. The section of Chipman Road from Cedar Creek Lane to just west of the pedestrian bridge will open to local traffic, while the sections of Chipman Road from View High Drive to Cedar Creek Lane and just west of the pedestrian bridge to Bent Tree Drive will close. The new entrance to Cedar Creek Lane is expected to be complete at the same time, and traffic from the Cedar Creek subdivision will be routed through the Edgewood Trail subdivision to View High Drive.
