The City of Lee’s Summit Fire Department is looking for highly motivated applicants to fill current openings and create a hiring list for the position of Fire and EMS Emergency Dispatcher. This is a non-sworn position, officially titled Communications Specialist. The role involves working in a 24/7 communications center responsible for dispatching fire and medical services. As a dispatcher for the Lee's Summit Fire Department, you will also have the opportunity to dispatch for six other area agencies, including the Fort Osage Fire Protection District, Inter City Fire Protection District, Lone Jack Fire Protection District, Southern Jackson County Fire Protection District, Sni Valley Fire Protection District, and the Sugar Creek, MO Fire Department. All eastbound traffic on Southwest Third Street has been shifted to the north between Southwest Blue Parkway and Southwest Jefferson Street. Southwest Noel Street north of Southwest Third Street is now open.

Southwest Third Street between Southwest Blue Parkway and Southwest Jefferson Street remains closed to westbound traffic.

 

The City of Lee’s Summit has officially rebranded the Lee’s Summit Municipal Airport to Kansas City – Lee’s Summit Regional Airport, a change that reflects its role as a key regional gateway for business and leisure travel. The new brand and refreshed look enhance the airport's identity within the Kansas City metropolitan area, underscoring its significance as an economic driver connecting the area to regional and national markets.

Southwest Nichols Street at Southwest Third Street is set to close on Monday, Sept. 8, until project completion. Southwest Fourth Terrace and Southwest Nichols Street will be local access only between the closure and Southwest Walnut Street. READ MORE -->

 

Southwest Oldham Parkway at Route 291 and Southwest Jefferson Street between Southwest Oldham Parkway and Southwest Persels Road are closed, and will remain closed through December. These phase two closures are in addition to the existing phase one Southwest Oldham Parkway closure, and the detour ties in with the existing detour.
