The City of Lee’s Summit Seeks Feedback on Stormwater Management Plan

  • The City of Lee’s Summit will host a public meeting from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 13, to solicit community feedback on the City’s updated Stormwater Management Plan.
  • The meeting will be held in the Development Conference Room at City Hall, 220 SE Green St. Community members may attend in person to learn more about the plan and provide input.
  • The updated plan will take effect following a public review and comment period and approval by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.

  • Community members are encouraged to perform random and purposeful acts of kindness to promote positivity.
  • The Human Relations Commission will host activities, including a Gratitude Station and a Kindness Passport. Community members are invited to visit the Gratitude Station in the City Hall lobby during business hours.

Lee’s Summit Community Development Block Grant Application Period Begins January 6

The City of Lee’s Summit will accept applications from qualified agencies for 2026–27 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding from Jan. 6 – Feb. 6, 2026. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development awards federal grant funds to the City annually. These funds must be used to meet the needs of low- to moderate-income individuals and families, address slum or blight in Lee's Summit, or meet an urgent need. Lee’s Summit is designated as an Entitlement Community under the CDBG program, giving the City authority to administer the grant funds locally. The City received $385,005 for the 2025–26 grant year. Funding for the 2026–27 program year, which runs July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027, has not yet been announced. Public agencies and nonprofit organizations may apply for the grant to support eligible programs and projects....
