Certified / Lateral Entry Police Officer
To be eligible, applicants must hold a valid Missouri Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Class A Certification or be able to obtain one by transferring out-of-state law enforcement credentials. Pay is based on a lateral entry scale that rewards up to five years of law enforcement experience.

Recruit Police Officer
This application process is for applicants who do NOT currently hold a Missouri Peace Officer license. This group of applicants will attend the next academy class of 2026 that is tenatively set for May of 2026.

Non-Sworn / Civilian Positions
Detention Officer
This is a full time, non-sworn, 12 hour shift position that books and processes offenders in our city jail.
Applicants must be able to pass a background check that includes polygraph and a drug screen that includes marijuana.
Interviews for the position will be held on Thursday, 12/16/2025 for candidates that are chosen to interview.
