Certified / Lateral Entry Police Officer
To be eligible, applicants must hold a valid Missouri Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Class A Certification or be able to obtain one by transferring out-of-state law enforcement credentials. Pay is based on a lateral entry scale that rewards up to five years of law enforcement experience.

Recruit Police Officer
This application process is for applicants who do NOT currently hold a Missouri Peace Officer license. This group of applicants will attend the next academy class of 2026 that is tenatively set for May of 2026.

Non-Sworn / Civilian Positions
Detention Officer
Detention Officer is non-sworn position that works in our Detention facility booking and handling inmates. This is a shift work position and employees bid for shift preference based upon seniority; applicants will work overnight and weekend shifts. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and able to pass a background investigation that includes a polygraph examination as well as a drug test (including marijuana).
