Certified / Lateral Entry Police Officer
To be eligible, applicants must hold a valid Missouri Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Class A Certification or be able to obtain one by transferring out-of-state law enforcement credentials. Pay is based on a lateral entry scale that rewards up to five years of law enforcement experience.

This application process is for applicants who do NOT currently hold a Missouri Peace Officer license. This group of applicants will attend the next academy class of 2026 that is tenatively set for May of 2026.

Public Safety Technology Manager
The Public Safety Technology Manager, under broad policy guidance and direction of the Chief of Police, is responsible for the management and direction of the technology-related physical security infrastructure and the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) program. The technology-related physical security infrastructure would include the City’s access control and security camera platforms. The Public Safety Technology Manager is also responsible for managing, controlling, and directing Police technology projects and infrastructure. This would also include supervising and monitoring the day-to-day activity of related systems, operations, initiatives, projects, and related staff. Identifies, recommends, and plans for product needs, resource requirements, training needs, technical assistance, or other help as required. As a representative of management, supports the mission, vision, strategic plan, goals and decisions of the department and the City.
