Police Explorer Program

The Lee’s Summit Police Department Explorer Post is designed to provide knowledge and training to young people interested in a possible career in law enforcement. Participants will receive classroom and hands-on experience to better prepare themselves for the realities of a career in law enforcement. This is also a great way for young people to get involved in their community and interact with police officers.

The program runs parallel to the school year, normally running from September through May.

We are excited that the 2025-2026 program is just around the corner.  We are putting the final touches on what this year will bring.  Our Open House will be September 3rd, 2025 at our Lee’s Summit Police Department Training Center.  It will be from 6 pm – 8 pm.  Those interested in joining our next program  just need to fill out the interest card below and then come to our Open House to get enrolled.  We will be limiting our enrollment to 25.  Explorers from the 2024-2025 program will have a guaranteed spot in the 2025-2026  program, but need to be at the Open House to enroll for that spot.
