City Crews Continued Plowing and Treating Streets Today, Tuesday Feb. 9

The City’s crews completed plowing and treating secondary streets today, Tuesday, Feb. 9, and started plowing and treating residential streets. Due to continued cold temperatures, crews stopped operations at 3:30 p.m. today and will start again tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 10. There is also a chance for additional snow early Wednesday, and crews are scheduled to begin working at 3 a.m. to plow and treat primary streets as needed ahead of the morning commute. There are additional chances for snow every day through Saturday.

This is a difficult weather pattern with extremely cold temperature and chances for precipitation each day. The cold temperatures limit the effectiveness of salt and streets may remain snow packed and slick. In addition, any melted snow during the day can quickly refreeze overnight. Residents should use caution and drive for the conditions.

The City will continue to monitor the weather forecast and update its response accordingly.
