Portions of the NW Chipman and NW Pryor roads intersection are set to close nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Monday, Oct. 2, and will take place for approximately two to three weeks, weather permitting. Traffic should follow the posted detour which includes NW Pryor Road, NW Lowenstein Drive, NW Black Twig Lane, and NW Chipman Road. During the day, the entire intersection will be open to traffic and all excavations will be plated and wedged with asphalt.

 

A section of SW Murray Road from SW 3rd Street to SW Longview Road is set to close to through traffic on Tuesday, Oct. 3, and will remain closed for approximately thirty days, weather permitting. There will be a hard closure of SW Murray Road from SW 3rd Street to SW 5th Street. The detour route for this closure is SW Pryor Road, SW Longview Road and SW Ward Road. 

Update: This closure has been extended through Jan. 19, 2024. Daily closures approved from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

A section of SW Lakeview Boulevard between SW 2^nd Street and SW 3^rd Street is set to close to through traffic daily from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. beginning Wed., Sept. 20. These daily closures are expected to last for approximately one month. A contractor will be replacing a gas main as part of private utility work. Local access will be provided for residents. The detour route is SW 3^rd Street, SW Jefferson Street and SW 2^nd Street.

The City of Lee’s Summit, in partnership with the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), will host an in-person public hearing to discuss the design for the M291 North Interchange at US 50 Highway Improvements Project on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 220 SE Green Street in Lee’s Summit, Mo. The public will have an opportunity to view project plans and exhibits and provide feedback. There will be no formal presentation and the hearing will be open house style; the public can come and go as schedules allow. Project plans and exhibits prepared by the City of Lee’s Summit, MoDOT and the design consultant Olsson will be available to view, and attendees will have the opportunity to discuss the project and offer comments.

 

 

The City of Lee’s Summit announced that work on the Colbern Road Improvements Project begins Sept. 5. The project will improve the safety and flow of traffic on Northwest Colbern Road between Northeast Douglas Street and Missouri Route 350 and will require that section of road to be closed to through traffic until spring 2025.   The first phase of construction will require a complete closure of Northwest Colbern Road from approximately Missouri Route 350 through the roundabout at Northwest Blue Parkway. This phase includes the reconstruction of the roundabout and realignment of Northwest Blue Parkway from the roundabout to the frontage road along Unity Village. This closure will continue through spring 2024, weather permitting. Detours will be put in place and signage will mark the detour route.
