Adopt-a-Street

The City's Adopt-A-Street program is a volunteer effort that involves collecting trash, litter and debris from specific segments of City-owned streets and rights-of-ways. Residents, civic groups, organizations, and businesses are encouraged to participate. Volunteers must complete an application for Adopt-A-Street and return it to the Public Works Department before a designated street segment will be assigned. Volunteers can review the list of adoptable streets  or map to see if there is a street segment they would prefer.

Volunteers who collect litter at least four times per year will receive a certificate of appreciation and recognition on a City 'Adopt' sign posted at the end of each road segment adopted. The City will provide trash bags for the clean-up events and will collect full bags upon reported clean-up activity completion.

Contact the Public Works Department at 816.969.1800 or via email at publicworks@cityofls.net if you are interested in any of these volunteer opportunities. Volunteer time may also qualify for community service hours.
