Certified / Lateral Entry Police Officer
To be eligible, applicants must hold a valid Missouri Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Class A Certification or be able to obtain one by transferring out-of-state law enforcement credentials. Pay is based on a lateral entry scale that rewards up to five years of law enforcement experience.

This application process is for applicants who do NOT currently hold a Missouri Peace Officer license. This group of applicants will attend the next academy class of 2026 that is tenatively set for August of 2026.

Radio Systems Specialist
This position manages the radio system for the entire City, which includes Police, Fire, Water Utilities, and Public Works Operations. The positin is the City’s representative at regional meetings since the radio system is connected to the greater Kansas City metro area. The position functions as the TAC (Terminal Agency Coordinator), ensuring proper training and the validation of information for the local, state, and national Criminal Justice Information Systems.
Pay scale is $28.67 - $35.85 per hour
