Certified / Lateral Entry Police Officer
To be eligible, applicants must hold a valid Missouri Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Class A Certification or be able to obtain one by transferring out-of-state law enforcement credentials. Pay is based on a lateral entry scale that rewards up to five years of law enforcement experience.

Recruit Police Officer
This application process is for applicants who do NOT currently hold a Missouri Peace Officer license. This group of applicants will attend a KCPD academy that is scheduled to begin in the winter of 2025.

Police Custodian of Records Supervisor
This is a full time, non-sworn position that supervises our front desk staff as well as our civilian property officers.
Interviews for the position will be held on Thursday, 12/4/2025 for candidates that are chosen to interview.
