The holiday season kicks off in style as Mistletoe Madness returns to Lee’s Summit Parks & Recreation! This two-day shopping extravaganza is the perfect way to get a jump on your holiday list while supporting local artisans and small businesses. Shoppers will find everything from handcrafted treasures and jewelry to seasonal décor, candles, sweet treats, accessories, and more—all under one festive roof. To help celebrate Parks and Recreation month, LSPR wants you to LEGO To The Park! Join us on Saturday, July 26, for a FREE, family-friendly morning of creativity and community to celebrate Parks and Recreation month! Children ages 4 to 12 years old are invited to bring their LEGOs (Non-Duplo) and participate in collaborative building activities in the great outdoors. Compete for prizes! The first 50 children receive a swag bag from LSPR.

We will have donuts, juice, playground time, and an interactive Agents of Discovery mission—all designed to foster imagination, connection, and fun.

We've got two exciting builds lined up! One is to construct the tallest tower, and the other will be an object you can find in our parks – we'll announce what that is in the morning! Don't forget to bring your Legos!

We are pleased to announce the official name of the upcoming new park within the Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation system: Red Hawk Park. This park will be situated west of Pryor Road and south of SW Scherer Road. We invite you to view the current progress of this exciting development.

The City of Lee's Summit and LSPR will kick off National Pollinator Week with the Pollinator Festival. Learn about and celebrate pollinators, such as bees, bats, birds, and butterflies, and participate in an art activity or craft. Local organizations and businesses dedicated to protecting and supporting our local pollinators and their ecosystems will be present, offering family-friendly learning and engaging activities for all ages. This is a free event.

The Mobile Music Box has been incredibly effective at building relationships with people, by going out into neighborhoods throughout Greater Kansas City. To date, the KC Symphony musicians have performed in 225 unique locations, spanning 91 zip codes and reaching tens of thousands of people. Bring a blanket and chair, and join us for a FREE outdoor Chamber Music concert at Lea McKeighan South Park! All concerts are presented, weather permitting.
