Lee’s Summit Seeks Public Input on Comprehensive Plan

The City of Lee’s Summit is seeking public feedback as it reviews and updates its comprehensive plan, which will guide development for the next 20 years. There are two online surveys available at IgniteOurFuture.net, where stakeholders can offer their vision for the City and reflect on what a high quality of life will mean for future generations in Lee’s Summit.

The Ignite Comprehensive Plan serves as the basis for economic development, quality residential growth and general improvements to ensure a vibrant community for residents and businesses. It will build upon the vision, objectives and critical success factors identified in the City’s Strategic Plan. The elements of the Ignite Comprehensive Plan include quality of life; strong neighborhoods and housing choice; resilient economy; multimodal transportation; facilities and infrastructure; sustainable environment; and land use and community design.

“Community input drives the overall development of the comprehensive plan and is vital to the success of the plan,” said Director of Development Services Ryan Elam. “This is a chance for the community to share their values, vision and hopes for the future of Lee’s Summit.”

These two online surveys are among the first opportunities for the public to engage in the planning process. Future opportunities include community workshops, additional online surveys, stakeholder interviews, focus groups and pop-up events.
