Lee’s Summit 2023 State of the City on August 18

Lee’s Summit Mayor Bill Baird will deliver the State of the City address on Friday, Aug. 18 in The Aspen Room at The Stanley in downtown Lee’s Summit, 308 SE Douglas St. The Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce is hosting the luncheon. The event begins at 11 a.m. with the mayor’s address scheduled to start at noon.

The annual State of the City address is an opportunity for Mayor Baird to celebrate the accomplishments of the community and discuss his vision for building a foundation for healthy growth. He will also highlight City priorities, key projects and initiatives, and provide a look ahead to future opportunities. The State of the City address will be broadcast live on YouTube.com/cityofls and will be available at cityofLS.net.

Public Invited to Comment on Douglas Street Improvements

The City of Lee’s Summit is hosting a public meeting from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wed., April 19, in the Strother Conference Room on the first floor of City Hall, 220 SE Green St., Lee's Summit, Mo. 64063, to discuss infrastructure improvements for the Douglas Street corridor from Chipman Road to 2nd Street. City Crews Prepared for Possible Refreeze

The City’s crews prepared trucks and will be called in as needed tonight, Thurs., March 16, and overnight into Fri., March 17, due to the potential for a refreeze. Rain may change over to snow/sleet, and temperatures are expected to drop.
