Various Lane Closures Expected on Northeast Douglas Street Through End of March

Update: Tree work is expected to continue along NE Douglas Street the week of April 13th. Various lane closures with detours are possible on NE Douglas Street between NE Chipman Road and SE 2nd Street.

Northeast Douglas Street between Northeast Chipman Road and Southeast Second Street will have various lane closures through the end of March for tree work. Work may start as early as this week, and is expected to take place a block at a time. Some detours may be needed depending on conditions. The work is in preparation for the Northeast Douglas Street Improvements project, which is expected to begin this summer 2026.

The Lee's Summit Fire Department will be testing the voice messaging capability of a new Outdoor Warning Siren behind Fire Headquarters on Friday, May 27, 2022, around Noon. The new siren provides coverage for the downtown area and is capable of live and prerecorded voice messages in addition to the traditional storm siren.
