The Lee's Summit Fire Department responded to a structure fire early Sunday morning in the 400 block of 10th Avenue Circle North in Greenwood, Missouri. A neighbor reported the blaze around 1:15 a.m., indicating that the house was heavily involved in flames. Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the single-story, split-level home. Fortunately, the occupants had been alerted by smoke alarms and were safely outside when emergency crews arrived. Initially, firefighters employed a defensive strategy to combat the fire in the garage and the front of the residence. They later transitioned to an interior attack to complete the extinguishment.
