City of Lee’s Summit to Host Career Fair and Expo April 2

The City of Lee’s Summit will host a Career Fair and Expo from 1 to 6 p.m. on April 2 at the Gamber Community Center, 4 SE Independence Ave. The event is free and open to the public and will highlight a variety of employment opportunities across City departments.

Job seekers will have the opportunity to connect with representatives from Animal Control, Parks and Recreation, Municipal Court, Water Utilities and the Police and Fire departments. Attendees may explore available positions, submit applications and participate in on-site interviews for select roles.

City Places Public Safety Sales Tax on April 5 Ballot

On April 5, Lee's Summit voters will be asked to consider a half-cent public safety sales tax solely for the purpose of providing support for law enforcement, fire protection, emergency response and other public safety services. If approved, the City’s current sales tax rate would increase from 2.25% to 2.75%, and the total sales tax rate would increase from 7.85% to 8.35%.
