Swim Instructor - Multiple Shifts

Swim lessons save lives. This part-time job helps a young person develop a set of abilities that will serve them well for the rest of their lives. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in a future career as a first responder or in healthcare.

Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Swim Lessons Instructor to join the dynamic team at Longview and Lovell Community Centers. This position will be working 10-20 hours per week. Responsibilities include conducting group and private swimming lessons, establishing aquatics skill development, and promoting good water safety habits.

Associates in this role will learn to adjust quickly to new situations and improve their verbal and nonverbal communication abilities.

Minimum qualifications include:

1. Must be at least 15 years of age.

2. Must possess valid American Red Cross lifeguard certification (available through LSPR after hire)

3. Must possess valid Basic First Aid, CPR, and AED certification ((The value of this post-employment training from LSPR is around $350.)

Compensation: $13.95 per hour.
