Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday, March 9, at 2 a.m. Remember to set your clocks forward and take the time to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. Also, check the date on your smoke alarms to ensure they are no more than 10 years old and replace them if necessary.

A section of Northeast Maybrook Road between Northeast Anderson Drive and Northeast Saint Andrews Circle is set to close to thru traffic from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, for bridge repairs. The wooden bridge on Northeast Maybrook Road will be closed during repairs and traffic is encouraged to use Northeast Anderson Drive as a detour route. The repairs are expected to last one day, weather permitting.

 

The City of Lee’s Summit is hosting a public meeting from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, in the Media Center Room A138 at Hawthorn Hill Elementary School, 2801 SW Pryor Road, Lee’s Summit, MO 64082, to discuss the Alignment Study of Scherer Road/Parkway. The City of Lee's Summit is partnering with the Community Blood Center to host a blood drive to replenish the area's blood supply. The drive will be held on Thursday, March 13, from 1-5 p.m. at Harris Park Community Center, 110 SW Blue Parkway. The blood drive aims to address the critical need for blood donations in the region. The City’s crews completed snow operations at 3:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, March 5. Crews treated primary and secondary streets today until warming pavement temperatures and sunshine melted ice and snow from streets.
