Lee's Summit City Hall Accepting Jackson County Tax Payments

Lee’s Summit City Hall is accepting Jackson County property, business and real estate tax bill payments. Payments can be made at Treasury, located in the lobby of City Hall, 220 SE Green St. Treasury is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday with extended hours of 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 27, Dec. 28, Dec. 29, and Dec. 30. Taxpayers may also place bill payments in one of the City’s drop boxes, located in the vestibule of the north entrance to City Hall or in the alley behind City Hall. These are available 24 hours.

Payments received at Treasury can be in the form of cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express. A non-refundable 2.25% fee of the total tax bill is added if using a credit or debit card. Fees are third-party merchant fees and are not retained by the City. There is no fee for cash or check. Checks should be made payable to Jackson County Collector. Taxpayers will receive tax receipts immediately upon payment.

Payments placed in a City drop box must include a check attached to the tax bill and a contact phone number. Tax receipts for payments received via the drop box will be mailed to the taxpayer.

The City benefits by receiving 1% of the tax dollars collected for acting as an agent for Jackson County.

To avoid long lines, it’s encouraged to visit City Hall to receive assistance with an incorrect tax statement and pay tax bills prior to the last week of December. Please note that titles, registrations or proof of sale documents are required for billing corrections. City Hall will be closed Dec. 23, Dec. 24 and Dec. 31 for the holidays.
