Lee’s Summit 2022 State of the City on September 7

Lee’s Summit Mayor Bill Baird will deliver the State of the City address on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at The Aspen Room at the Stanley in downtown Lee’s Summit, 308 SE Douglas St. The Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce is hosting the luncheon. The event begins at 11 a.m. with the mayor’s address scheduled to start at noon.

During the State of the City, Mayor Baird will reflect on his first term, the progress the City has made and how the City will continue to build on that progress to improve the quality of life for every citizen of Lee’s Summit. He will highlight the investments made in public safety, infrastructure, and community health and well-being. He will share the economic opportunities created as a result of smart development growth and strategic decisions based on reinvestment in existing infrastructure and buildings. The State of the City address will be rebroadcast on the City’s government access channel and will be available at cityofLS.net.

Section of NE Hagan Road Set to Close Today

Section of NE Hagan Road Set to Close Today

A section of NE Hagan Road at NE Maguire Boulevard is set to close today, and will remain closed for approximately one week. The closure is necessary for sanitary sewer work. The detour route includes NE Jones Industrial Drive and NE Independence Avenue.

This work is being completed by a private contractor and is development related. All work is weather permitting and schedules are subject to change.

City Crews Scheduled to Treat Streets as Needed Feb. 27-28

The City's crews are scheduled to treat streets with salt as needed late Tuesday, Feb. 27, and overnight into early Wednesday, Feb. 28, as sleet and snow is forecast for the area. Streets are expected to get slick as temperatures and pavements fall below freezing, and drivers should use caution overnight and into the Wednesday morning commute. Pavement temperatures are expected to rise above freezing by mid-day Wednesday.
