Design Criteria

All construction work is subject to the adopted codes and ordinances for the City of Lee's Summit.  These include the following design regulations.

Access Management Code

Access management is the careful planning and design of driveways, median openings, interchanges, and street connections to a roadway. It also involves the application of median treatments and turning lanes, and the appropriate separation of traffic signals. This is done to maintain the viability of major roadways to safely and efficiently accommodate traffic volumes commensurate with their function.

International Building Code

The Building and Fire Codes for the City regulate the construction of all structures from single-family residential homes to multi-story commercial buildings.

Design & Construction Manual

The Design and Construction Manual regulates the construction of public infrastructure improvements within the City, including the regulation of blasting, excavation, trenching and backfilling and the design and construction of water lines, sanitary sewers, storm sewers and streets

Development Policies
