Parking Lot Closure for Arnold Hall Stormwater Project Set for Monday, March 21

The public parking lot at 121 SE 3rd St. in downtown Lee’s Summit, commonly referred to as the Arnold Hall parking lot, is set to close on Monday, March 21, weather permitting, and is expected to remain closed until June. The closure is necessary for the second phase of stormwater work at the site which includes the excavation and installation of stormwater tanks. The alley off of SE Green St. will be used during construction and will be closed most of the time. The alley off of 3rd Street will have intermittent closures; access will be maintained to the Vogue parking garage.

Visitors to the area are encouraged to use free public parking available in the parking garage at 2nd and Green streets.

Northwest Colbern Road between Northwest Blue Parkway and Northeast Douglas Street is now open to traffic.

Please note there will be some ongoing work along the corridor, and Northwest Main Street at Northwest Colbern Road will remain closed for approximately one month.

Update 12/12/25: Southwest Scherer Road is now open. Update 12/5/25: The closure of Southwest Scherer Road at its intersection with Southwest Pryor Road has been extended by one week. It was originally scheduled to reopen today 12/5/25. The intersection of Southwest Scherer and Southwest Pryor Roads is set to close on Wednesday, October 22, for approximately forty-five days. Utility work along Southwest Fourth Street between Southwest Jefferson and Southwest Market streets requires the closure of the alley between Southwest Fourth and Southwest Fifth streets beginning Wednesday, October 15. A utility contractor will be installing a gas main as well as abandoning a portion, and work is permitted through the end of November.
