Set Your Clocks Forward and Check Your Smoke Alarms

Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday, March 13 at 2 a.m. Set your clocks forward, and take the time to change the batteries in your smoke alarms. Smoke alarms have a lifespan of 10 years. So check the date on your alarms, and replace them if they are getting close or are over ten years old. Smoke alarms save lives, but only if they work!

LEE'S SUMMIT, MO—On Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 5:57 p.m., the Lee’s Summit Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 5600 Block of NE Hidden Meadow Circle. A neighbor noticed the fire, called 911, and alerted the occupants of the house. When the fire department arrived, smoke and fire was coming from the garage of a two-story, single- family house.
