Standards of Cover

The Community Risk Standards of Cover is a document which thoroughly identifies the hazards and risks with the community. It documents the Fire Department's current capabilities and limitations against internationally recognized consensus standards.

The document is a guide towards continuous improvement and will be updated periodically. Response data will be monitored closely to ensure the organization is engaging the needs of the community and providing the best service possible.

Main points of the documents include: total response times at the 90% mark, Effective Response Force capabilities, response time goals as related to population density, travel time capability mapping, historical demand mapping, and future recommendations. This very valuable document not only shows our current capabilities, but helps plan for future department service needs and capabilities, as the city continues to grow.
