Lee’s Summit Celebrates Take Time To Be Kind Week

Lee’s Summit Celebrates Take Time To Be Kind Week

The City of Lee's Summit's Human Relations Commission is promoting kindness in the community during Take Time To Be Kind Week, Feb. 9-14. Community members are encouraged to perform random and purposeful acts of kindness to promote positivity.

Acts of kindness can be simple and meaningful, such as writing a note of appreciation, assembling a small care package for a co-worker, volunteering with a local organization or practicing self-care through activities like journaling. Community members are encouraged to share their acts of kindness on social media using the hashtag #LSKindness.

The Human Relations Commission will host activities, including a Gratitude Station and a Kindness Passport. Community members are invited to visit the Gratitude Station in the City Hall lobby during business hours to create cards and signs with thoughtful messages to share and spread kindness and appreciation throughout the community.

The Kindness Passport offers a fun and interactive way for the community to participate in Take Time To Be Kind Week. By completing acts of kindness and filling out a bingo-style card, participants can spread kindness through simple gestures, from helping a neighbor to writing a gratitude note. Kindness Passports may be turned in at City Hall at the end of the week and entered into a prize drawing. Passports are available at City Hall and online at LSKindness.net.

Even small gestures can significantly impact someone's day. Take Time To Be Kind Week aims to spread happiness, promote positivity and make a lasting impact on the Lee's Summit community.
