City of Lee’s Summit Hosting Career Fair & Expo on March 27

The City of Lee’s Summit will host a Career Fair & Expo from 2 to 6 p.m., Mar. 27 at the Gamber Community Center, 4 SE Independence Ave. Job seekers will find outstanding job opportunities with the City of Lee’s Summit in several departments. The event is free and open to the public.

The City offers meaningful work that positively impacts the safety and quality of life for our residents. Professionals representing Development Services, Parks and Recreation, Public Works, Human Resources,  Finance and the Police and Fire Departments will be in attendance. Attendees can visit with hiring departments about job opportunities, complete applications and interview on-site for select positions.

Section of Northwest O'Brien Road Set to Close Monday, Oct. 28

A section of Northwest O’Brien Road between Southwest Ward Road and Southwest Second Street is set to close to thru traffic on Monday, Oct. 28, for approximately three weeks. The detour route includes Southwest Ward Road and Southwest Second Street. Water main work will take place between Northwest Donovan Road and Northwest Monroe Street.

A section of Southwest Market Street between Southwest First and Second streets is closed. Length of closure is unknown at this time but currently permitted through Nov. 8. The closure is necessary for installation of utilities and to restore the street. This work is development related for the Ellis Glen project.
