The City’s crews are pre-treating streets due to a winter storm that began today, Monday, Jan. 8, and is expected to continue overnight into tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 9. A mix of rain and snow is expected throughout the day today, and pavement temperatures should remain above freezing until 10 p.m. tonight; however, heavy snow may overwhelm pavements at times and cause slushy conditions. Pavement temperatures will fall below freezing later tonight, and drivers should use caution, especially on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses. The City’s crews prepared trucks and equipment due to light snow forecast for tonight, Friday, Jan. 5, and tomorrow, Saturday, Jan. 6.
