The City of Lee’s Summit is hosting a “meet the contractor” meeting for the NE Douglas Street Improvements project from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2026, in the Strother Conference Room in City Hall, 220 SE Green St., Lee’s Summit, Mo., 64063. The meeting is an opportunity for the public to learn more about the NE Douglas Street improvements from Chipman Road to 2^nd Street and to meet the construction contractor, Pyramid Contractors Inc. Construction is expected to start in mid-September 2026.

The City of Lee’s Summit is hosting a public meeting to discuss the proposed design and infrastructure improvements to the Pryor Road corridor from Hook Road to M-150 Highway from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, at Summit Lakes Middle School, 3500 SW Windemere Dr. Lee's Summit, Mo. 64082.

The following information is shared from the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) and is related to the 291 North and US Route 50 Interchange project. 

Projects: Missouri Route 291 North and U.S. Route 50 Interchange Improvements in Jackson

JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will conduct various closures and traffic modifications on Missouri Route 291 and U.S. MO 50 for bridge replacement operations. All work is weather permitting. 

The intersection of NW Ward and NW O’Brien roads is set to close on Monday, Aug. 24 (rescheduled from Aug. 17), for approximately two months. NW Ward Road will be closed to through traffic between NW Blue Parkway and NW Chipman Road. NW O’Brien Road will be closed to through traffic between Executive Way and NW Donovan Road.

The alley between SE 2^nd and SE 3^rd streets will close weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for installation of a gas main by a utility contractor. The closure is permitted from July 30 through September 18 (extended from August 28).
