The City’s crews are pre-treating streets with salt tonight, Thursday, Jan. 11, in advance of another round of winter weather. Temperatures may fall below freezing earlier than previously expected, and will stay there. Crews may need to treat primary streets again as temperatures drop and streets get slick. Drivers should use caution especially on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses.

The City’s crews continue plowing and treating residential streets today, Thursday, Jan. 11. Crews are 89% complete and now expect to finish this afternoon or early evening. Crews will then be preparing for additional winter weather this evening and overnight into Friday, Jan. 12.

Favorable temperatures today are helping with continued melting on streets. The next storm is expected to begin tonight as rain and will change over to ice and snow as temperatures fall after midnight. Streets may be slick, and drivers should use caution especially on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses. The City’s crews are plowing and treating residential streets tonight, Wed., Jan. 10, and will continue overnight into Thurs., Jan. 11. Crews have completed approximately 65% of streets and expect to be done by noon Thursday. Some streets will continue to be packed with snow even after being plowed and treated. Some melting occurred throughout the day today, and streets may refreeze as temperatures drop overnight into Thursday. Drivers should continue to use caution.

The City’s crews began plowing and treating residential streets overnight and will continue throughout the day today, Wed., Jan. 10, and overnight into tomorrow, Thurs., Jan. 11. Some streets will continue to be packed with snow even after plowing and treating. Pavement temperatures and sunshine should help with additional melting throughout the day today; however, overnight and into Thursday refreezing may occur and drivers should continue to use caution.

The City's crews are plowing and treating streets today, Tuesday, Jan. 9. Accumulating snow ended around noon today. Primary streets are nearly complete and crews are working in secondary streets. With more than six inches of snow and gusty winds, it will take crews 40-48 hours to plow and treat all streets in the City. Crews are expected to continue working until Thursday, Jan. 11.

Pavement temperatures are helping to melt snow, and some streets are clear; however, blowing snow across north/south streets is causing minor issues in open areas and crews are having to re-plow some streets.
