Chipman Road Project Update

Chipman Road Project Update

The Chipman Road Improvements project is moving into the next construction phase beginning the week of Feb.10, weather permitting. Pavement removal is expected to start on the section of Northwest Chipman Road from just west of the pedestrian bridge to Northwest Bent Tree Drive in preparation for paving in March. This section will remain closed until construction is complete later this spring. The section of Northwest Chipman Road between View High Drive and just west of the pedestrian bridge is open to local traffic only. The detour route remains Northwest Pryor Road, Southwest Third Street and View High Drive.

The Chipman Road Improvements project began in mid-July 2023. Improvements completed to date include the connection of Northwest Ashurst Drive to View High Drive, realignments of both Northwest Cedar Creek Lane and Northwest Edgewood Drive, and the new pedestrian bridge at the Rock Island Trail. Remaining work includes completion of a traffic signal at the intersection of View High Drive and Northwest Chipman Road, paving and completion of infrastructure improvements such as sidewalks, shared use path, streetlighting, enclosed stormwater drainage system and relocation and/or upsizing of water and sewer lines.

Northwest Chipman Road between View High Drive and Northwest Bent Tree Drive will remain closed to through traffic for the project's duration. The project is expected to be completed in late spring 2025.
