Section of SW 3rd Street Set to Close Mon., Nov. 27

Section of SW 3rd Street Set to Close Mon., Nov. 27

Update: As of 12/21/23, 3rd Street is now open to through traffic. Construction work will be be ongoing over the next several months that will require the contractor to have a single lane drop on westbound 3rd Street (just east of Murray) during working hours, but a minimum of one lane of traffic will be kept open at all times.  No further complete closures are anticipated.

A section of SW 3rd Street from SW Pryor Road to SW Ward Road is set to close to through traffic on Mon., Nov. 27, and will remain closed for approximately thirty days, weather permitting. A hard closure of SW 3rd Street will be located just east of SW Murray Road. The closure is necessary for sanitary sewer work under SW 3rd Street as part of the McClendon Ditch improvements project.

There are two detour routes for this project: SW Pryor Road, NW O’Brien Road, and Oldham Parkway, or SW Pryor Road, SW Longview Road, and SW Ward Road.

The McClendon Ditch improvements will increase the conveyance of sewer to meet current and future needs within the Cedar Creek watershed as redevelopment occurs.
