Mayor Joins Community Partners at MCC-Longview Automotive Institute Ribbon Cutting

Mayor Beto Lopez joined fellow elected officials and community/city leaders from across the region to celebrate the MCC-Longview Automotive Institute Grand Opening Friday afternoon.

The event marked an exciting investment in workforce development, hands-on education, and career-ready training opportunities for students throughout the region. The Automotive Institute will help prepare students for high-demand careers in the automotive industry while supporting local employers and strengthening the regional workforce.

During the ceremony, Mayor Lopez recognized the importance of partnerships that connect education, business, and community needs. Along with a host of representatives from other local communities, Lee’s Summit Councilmembers Donnie Funk, Nyauna Cravens, Shari Frazier, and Melanie Adkins also attended the ribbon cutting in support of MCC-Longview and its continued investment in students, workforce training, and the community.

The City of Lee’s Summit congratulates MCC-Longview on this milestone and looks forward to the continued impact the Automotive Institute will have on students, families, and businesses across the region.
