City Crews Preparing for Snow this Week

The City’s crews are pre-treating streets with salt today, Monday, February 10, ahead of winter weather forecast for this week. Crews started treating streets in residential areas, and then will move to secondary and primary streets. Light snow is expected overnight into Tuesday, February 11, and crews will treat streets as needed.

Heavier snow of 4-8 inches is expected Wednesday, February 12. Crews will plow streets during snowfall, and plow and treat all streets after the snow stops. Depending on the total snow accumulations, it can take crews 32.5-48 hours or more after snow stops to plow and treat all streets in the city. Due to freezing temperatures, snow is expected to be packed to pavements even after being plowed and treated.

The City will continue to monitor the weather forecast and update its response as needed.
