City Crews Preparing for Snow on Mon., Dec. 19

The City's crews are preparing for snow to begin around 6 a.m. on Mon., Dec. 19. Crews are expected to report at 9 p.m. tonight, Sun., Dec. 18, to begin pre-treatment with salt, and treatment will continue throughout the event as needed. Temperatures are expected to be below freezing when the snow starts, and the Monday morning commute may be slick. Residents are encouraged to use caution while driving especially on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses.

Accumulating snow of one half inch to one and a half inches is expected Monday morning, especially in low lying areas and on elevated surfaces. Warming temperatures throughout the day are expected to help with melting; however, a re-freeze is possible late Monday and overnight into Tues., Dec. 20. The City will monitor conditions and may schedule a crew to treat streets late Monday and overnight into Tuesday as needed.

The City will continue to monitor the weather forecast and update its response as needed.
