City of Lee’s Summit Hosting Career Fair & Expo on March 27

The City of Lee’s Summit will host a Career Fair & Expo from 2 to 6 p.m., Mar. 27 at the Gamber Community Center, 4 SE Independence Ave. Job seekers will find outstanding job opportunities with the City of Lee’s Summit in several departments. The event is free and open to the public.

The City offers meaningful work that positively impacts the safety and quality of life for our residents. Professionals representing Development Services, Parks and Recreation, Public Works, Human Resources,  Finance and the Police and Fire Departments will be in attendance. Attendees can visit with hiring departments about job opportunities, complete applications and interview on-site for select positions.

A section of Southeast Fourth Street between Southeast Timbercreek Lane and Southeast Todd George Parkway is set to close on Monday, Oct. 27, until Monday, Nov. 17 (postponed and extended due to weather and utility conflicts from Monday, Oct. 23, through Monday, Nov. 3). The detour route includes Southeast Timbercreek Lane, Southeast Winburn Trail, and Southeast Todd George Parkway.

Update 11/26/25: Northwest Main Street is now open.

Northwest Colbern Road between Northwest Blue Parkway and Northeast Douglas Street is now open to traffic.

Please note there will be some ongoing work along the corridor, and Northwest Main Street at Northwest Colbern Road will remain closed for approximately one month.

Update 12/12/25: Southwest Scherer Road is now open. Update 12/5/25: The closure of Southwest Scherer Road at its intersection with Southwest Pryor Road has been extended by one week. It was originally scheduled to reopen today 12/5/25. The intersection of Southwest Scherer and Southwest Pryor Roads is set to close on Wednesday, October 22, for approximately forty-five days.
