A section of northbound Northeast Independence Avenue between Northeast Orchard Street and Northeast Columbus Street will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24, for utility work. The detour route includes Northeast Orchard Street, Northeast Corder Avenue, and Northeast Columbus Street. All work is weather permitting and schedules are subject to change.

A section of Northeast Independence Avenue between Northeast Missouri Road and Northeast Colbern Road is closed daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday, February 27, for installation of a gas main by a utility contractor. The detour route includes Northeast Colbern Road, Northeast Douglas Street, Northeast Tudor Road, and Route 291. All work is weather permitting and schedules are subject to change.

Sections of Southeast Lee Haven Drive and Southeast Corder Avenue Set to Close Monday, February 16

Sections of Southeast Lee Haven Drive and Southeast Corder Avenue are set to close Monday, February 16, at approximately 9 a.m. and will remain closed for approximately 3 weeks. The detour route includes Southeast 2nd Street, and Southeast Grand Ave. The closure is necessary for stormwater work and will be 24 hours a day.  All work is weather permitting and schedules are subject to change.

The City of Lee’s Summit Seeks Feedback on Stormwater Management Plan

  • The City of Lee’s Summit will host a public meeting from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 13, to solicit community feedback on the City’s updated Stormwater Management Plan.
  • The meeting will be held in the Development Conference Room at City Hall, 220 SE Green St. Community members may attend in person to learn more about the plan and provide input.
  • The updated plan will take effect following a public review and comment period and approval by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
