Inclement Winter Weather Route Established for Northwest Quarry Park Road

The City of Lee’s Summit has established an inclement winter weather route through the Clarkson Construction property north of Northwest Quarry Park Road. This route is necessary due to the upcoming winter weather season and the continued closure of Northwest Quarry Park Road west of Northwest Pryor Road. Access to the inclement winter weather route is from Northwest Quarry Park Road.

This route will only be used when inclement winter weather is forecast and the City anticipates the need to plow and/or treat streets.

Section of Northwest Falk Drive Closed

A section of Northwest Falk Drive between Northwest Village Drive and Northwest Ward Road closed today, Tuesday, November, 19, and will remain closed until the afternoon on Friday, November 22. The closure is necessary for the replacement of rusted corrugated metal storm pipe that is causing sinkholes in the road. All work is weather permitting and schedules are subject to change. Section of Southwest Georgetown Drive Set to Close Thursday, Nov. 7

A section of Southwest Georgetown Drive between Southwest Ward Road and Southwest Raintree Drive is set to close to thru traffic on Thursday, Nov. 7, and will remain closed for approximately one week. The work is necessary for curb and gutter replacement near the intersection of Southwest Georgetown Drive and Southwest Raintree Drive. The detour route includes Southwest Drake Drive, Southwest Ward Road, and Southwest County Line Road.

City Crews Preparing for Winter Weather Season

The City of Lee’s Summit is holding a snow dry run from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 6, to allow crews to prepare for the upcoming 2024-2025 winter weather season. The annual snow dry run was scheduled in advance and is not in response to any forecast.

The purpose of the snow dry run is to ensure all equipment and software are working properly and that drivers are familiar with snow routes, which is critical to the City’s snow and ice control operations. City crews will test equipment and software, and drive snow routes with plows and salt spreaders installed on trucks.
