A utility contractor closed a section of Northeast County Park Road at Northeast Colbern Road for concrete restoration. Work started today, and is permitted through Aug. 15. A detour route is posted and includes Northeast Colbern Road, Northeast Bren Mar Road, and Northeast Lake Shore Drive. This section of Northeast County Park Road is owned by Jackson County.

Update as of 12/5/25: The Southwest Raintree Parkway spillway bridge is now open. The sidewalk remains closed and some lane drops are possible through next week. The contractor expects all work to be completed by the end of next week.
The Southwest Raintree Parkway spillway bridge is set to close on Monday, Aug. 25, and will remain closed for approximately four months. Southwest Raintree Parkway will be closed between Southwest Tiller Court and Southwest Green Teal. Drivers will need to use an alternate route.

 

Northwest Chipman Road between View High Drive and Northwest Bent Tree Drive opened earlier today, Friday, Aug. 1. The contractor will continue to work to complete restoration and punch list items.

The City of Lee's Summit will celebrate the completion of the Chipman Road Improvements project with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Aug. 1 at 10 a.m. The event will be held on the east side of the pedestrian bridge on Chipman Road. The Chipman Road Improvements project, which began construction in July 2023, enhances the corridor that serves as a key transportation route for residents and businesses. The completed upgrades include the connection of Northwest Ashurst Drive to View High Drive, realignments of both Northwest Cedar Creek Lane and Northwest Edgewood Drive, and the replacement of a one-lane railroad tunnel with a new pedestrian bridge over Chipman Road that supports two-way traffic. Repairs to the roundabout at Southwest Arborwalk Boulevard and Southwest Arboridge Drive are set to begin the week of July 28. A section of Southwest Arborwalk Boulevard between Southwest Arbormist Drive and Southwest Arboridge Drive will be closed, and sections of both Southwest Arborwalk Boulevard and Southwest Arboridge Drive will be closed to thru traffic.
