City Crew Scheduled to Treat Streets as Needed Tonight, Sunday, March 1, and Overnight into Monday, March 2

The City has a small crew scheduled to report at 7 p.m. tonight, Sunday, March 1, to monitor conditions and treat streets with salt as needed Sunday night and overnight into Monday, March 2.

A mix of rain and sleet is expected during the day Sunday, but pavement and air temperatures should remain above freezing. The crew will be ready to treat streets as needed if temperatures drop below freezing Sunday night or overnight into Monday.  

The City will continue to monitor the weather forecast and will update its response as needed.

Solar Panels Involved in Roof Fire

On Thursday, April 28, 2022, at 4:51 p.m., the Lee’s Summit Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 4300 Block of NE Walnut Ridge. An occupant in the house reported smoke coming from the roof and attic. When the fire department arrived, light smoke was visible from the attic and roof of a two-story, single-family residence.
