LEE'S SUMMIT, MO—On Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 7:46 p.m., the Lee’s Summit Fire Department responded to the Lee’s Summit Medical Center, 2100 SE Blue Parkway for a reported chemical spill. Hospital staff discovered a spilled material in the pathology lab and sealed off the area.

The City of Lee’s Summit, in partnership with the Community Blood Center, is hosting a community blood drive on Sept. 30 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at City Hall, 220 SE Green St. The Community Blood Center says a drop in donations has resulted in an urgent need for all blood types.
