Wreath Laying Ceremony

Wreath Laying Ceremony

The American Legion Post 189 of Lees Summit and the City of Lees Summit Parks and Recreation will host a "Wreath Laying Ceremony" this Saturday, December 21, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lees Summit Historical Cemetery at 806 SE 3rd Street. The event will honor and pay tribute to our fallen, as well as honor those who serve and their families. The public is invited to attend and also lay a wreath for a veteran friend/family member buried in the cemetery (bring your own wreath). There are currently 1,246 veterans in the LSHC.

This is a national event hosted by Wreaths Across America.

The Lee's Summit Fire Department will be testing the voice messaging capability of a new Outdoor Warning Siren behind Fire Headquarters on Friday, May 27, 2022, around Noon. On Thursday, April 28, 2022, at 4:51 p.m., the Lee’s Summit Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 4300 Block of NE Walnut Ridge.
