Lee’s Summit Seeks Input on NW Main Street Improvements

The City of Lee’s Summit will hold a virtual public meeting from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Dec. 9, where residents will have the opportunity to comment on planned improvements to Northwest Main Street from Northwest Chipman Road to Northwest Commerce Drive. The project’s goal is to improve safety in the area and enhance economic activity.

The project is currently in the planning phase. It will consist of widening and reconstructing Northwest Main Street as a two-lane roadway with improved pavement, enclosed storm drainage, continuous curb and gutter and sidewalks. The existing sidewalk on the south side of Northwest Commerce Drive will also be extended to Northwest Main Street.

During the virtual public meeting, a short presentation will take place at 5:30 p.m., 6 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. to explain the project. Following the presentations, City employees and members of the engineering consulting firm Walter P Moore will be available to answer questions.
