Burning Leaves is Prohibited

Burning Leaves is Prohibited

Burning leaves and other yard waste within the City of Lee's Summit is prohibited. This includes the use of fire pits, patio fireplaces, and other open-flame appliances for such activities. These appliances may only be used with seasoned firewood.

Residents are encouraged to properly dispose of leaves by either mulching or bagging them for collection by their designated waste hauler. Additionally, to prevent stormwater backups, it is essential that leaves are not raked or blown into storm drains.

Thank you for helping to keep our community safe and tidy!
