City of Lee’s Summit Public Works Reaccredited by the American Public Works Association

City of Lee’s Summit Public Works Reaccredited by the American Public Works Association

Lee’s Summit Public Works is excited to announce it has received reaccreditation from the American Public Works Association (APWA). This achievement recognizes the department’s commitment to excellence in public works management and operations.

APWA accreditation is a rigorous process that evaluates public works agencies against industry best practices. By earning this accreditation, City of Lee’s Summit Public Works demonstrates its dedication to providing high-quality services to the community. This is the department’s sixth accreditation since 2004, solidifying its position as a leader in public works management.

Open to all governmental agencies with responsibilities for public works functions, initial accreditation from APWA is for a four-year period. Semi-annual updates will be required to demonstrate continuing compliance. The reaccreditation process is built on the original accreditation complying with newly identified practices.

“We are honored to receive this recognition,” Director of Public Works Michael Park said. “This accomplishment reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire team. We are committed to continuous improvement and providing the best possible services to our community.”

Lee’s Summit Public Works joins a select group of seven other accredited agencies in Missouri.
